DEVIN received special charter from the Regional Inspectorate of Environment and Water – Smolyan for Best Practice in Reduction of Packages. The initiative was held under the motto Be Eco-Friendly, Save Money within the European initiative for waste reduction which was held in the period from November 19 to November 27, 2016.
The company was honored for its long-term practices for reducing the weight of packages, which leads to responsible use of resources. The results show that 28 tons of packages were saved for 9 months, while 37 tons were saved on annual basis.
As a socially responsible company, DEVIN traditionally supports investments in new production technologies and efficient use of energy and resources. The company will continue investing in this direction, realizing its commitment towards environment and society.
Thanks to the efforts and initiatives taken by DEVIN and another 7 companies, united by the joint cause of Regional Inspectorate of Environment and Water – Smolyan, packaging waste will decrease with nearly 120 tons per year. According to the reports provided by the participants in the initiative, they will also manage to save more than 7,000 plastic bags from selling in 52 trade points across the country.
