The children’s sports corner was officially opened by the Mayor of Oborishte District Mr. Vassil Tsolov who cut the symbolic ribbon of the renovated area in the school’s yard. Father Iliyan from the Nativity of the Virgin Mary Church sanctified the place and wished children health and amusing games. The Chief Executive Officer of DEVIN, Mr. Thomas Krennbauer, also wished many success to the pupils of the First English Language School and the Stoyan Zaimov Primary School.

‘Bulgarian children deserve to grow and be educated in modern and innovative environment which will help them develop their potential. This is the constructive way to form sports culture and promote healthy lifestyle’, Mr. Krennbauer commented at the official opening.

‘We are happy that children will have a place to do sports with pleasure, and play in their spare time. This will give them energy but also the right attitude towards sports’, the Director of the First English Language School Mrs. Nelly Petrova said.

The sports corner consists of one combined fitness appliance for children aged 6 to 12, two table tennis for the students aged up to 18 and a green recreation area. The place is fully landscaped and suitable for both children and their parents. The fitness equipment can also be used by children with disabilities.

The combined fitness device allows various exercises, including simulator for arms and legs, stepper, exercise bike, double cross trainer, etc.

The construction of the sports playground is part of DEVIN strategy to promote and encourage active lifestyle and healthy hydration among children and adolescents.
